Nuts and Bolts of Sexual Health

The Nuts and Bolts of Sexual Health is FPWA’s core sexual health training program. This three day course develops the fundamental knowledge, attitudes and skills required to support and educate people around sexual health issues. It has a particular focus on working with young people, including Aboriginal and CALD young people. Participants will gain essential understanding, skills and strategies to work with young people in the areas of:

  • Bodies, sex and reproduction
  • Gender, power and diversity
  • Relationships, pressure, negotiation and consent
  • Pregnancy and contraception
  • STIs, BBVs, drugs, safe sex and harm reduction

Nuts and Bolts provides a solid foundation for any further training in sexual health. It is an essential pre-requisite to Sexual Health Education, the new sexual health group work and education skills course that FPWA is offering in 2012.
