FPWA Sexual Health Services encourages the availability, dissemination and exchange of public information.
In general, people may copy, distribute, display, and otherwise freely deal with material created by FPWA provided they include the copyright notice as follows on all uses:

Exclusions may apply to this general agreement, for example training resources and manuals. Information about specific copyright requirements is included on these individual publications.
Please note that some material may contain illustrations, diagrams or other information over which FPWA does not hold copyright. Please examine the material carefully for evidence of other copyright holders. Where a copyright holder other than FPWA is identified with respect to a specific item in the material that you wish to reproduce, please contact that copyright holder directly.
You MUST obtain copyright permission from FPWA if you wish to:
- Charge others for access to the material (other than at cost)
- Include the material in advertising or a product for sale
- Modify the material in any way, including using only part of the material
- Publish the material to another website

I wish to place a copy of the publication on a website
FPWA Sexual Health Services rarely approves the republishing or 'mirroring' of material on other websites. Our reasons are:
- We need to maintain control over our information so we can update or remove it as necessary, without delay.
- We like to retain a single point of authority on key issues.
- A link is as good as a copy for most users.
- We want to retain the recognition and credit for our material, and also the somewhat intangible value that applies to search engine rankings. The ranking of our site is maximised by retaining our own content.
I only want to use one or more images
We often receive requests to use images from our website or one of our publications. By their very nature, images raise a suite of additional issues that must be considered, including:
- Our extensive image collection is a valuable resource and we want to use it responsibly and fairly.
- Many of our photographs and illustrations demonstrate significant creative effort, which may require special recognition.
- Some of our images are used under license to other copyright owners and our license rarely extends to approving use by other people.
- Many of our images contain people. Under law, we are required to follow certain procedures in managing and using these images.
I want to use the material for advertising or promotion
Commercial charges will normally be applied for use of materials for advertising, promotion or some other commercial purposes.
I will supply the material to a third party as part of a paid services
Supplying material as part of a paid service comprises a commercial use of the material.
I am seeking to use material from a saleable publication
FPWA has a number of saleable publications. Copying of material from these could undermine the market for the publication. Requests for copying of material from these publications are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Privacy statement
Information from this form is collected for the purpose of assessing and recording your request for use of copyright material. Your name and email address will be stored in FPWA records for at least seven years from the date of submission. Information will be stored and managed in accordance with provisions under the Privacy & Personal Information Protection Act 1998.
Information collected will not be used for any other purpose and will not be given to any other third party except where required by law.
